The Haunted Forest at Panic Point in Youngsville is the biggest bundle: five attractions, including a forest trail, a hayride investigating alien sightings and two haunted corn mazes. Plan ahead, though: tickets are timed and not sold at the door, and kids 8 and under aren't allowed in the haunts. Darkside Haunted Estates in Middlesex is over a mile of outdoor haunted trail. Parking is $5.
Clayton Fear Farm is the closer one, with a hayride on a 40-foot wagon plus a slaughterhouse and a haunted farmhouse. Dress like you might need to crawl. For history, the Hillsborough ghost tour runs 2.5 hours and stops at three haunted houses, two cemeteries and an execution site. That's a full evening. Little kids? The Witch's Haunted Barn & Pumpkin Patch is the not-so-scary one, $13 a person, with scaredy-cat exits all through the barn.
